Working at Sticks'n'Sushi

Development

We offer a work environment with opportunities for development, intended to motivate. The unique atmosphere at Sticks’n’Sushi is designed to reinforce the idea that we are a community.

Work Environment

The Sticks’n’Sushi team values a great work environment, as the workplace is our home away from home. We are always working on improving the work environment we offer employees. There is always a lot happening in our restaurants, especially with our business hours, and the coming and going of employees throughout the day means that we have to cooperate in order to find out how we can improve. A good work environment is the result of a collective effort and we especially draw on our teams experiences in order to figure out how to improve the work environment. Their experiences also help us understand the restaurant dynamics.

CSR

We are of the firm belief that it is important to help others when possible. There are plenty of ways to help people and one of the big ones is helping those who would otherwise struggle to find employment. We want to do our part to help, but we do not treat anyone differently. That said, we consider it a success when someone who has had a difficult time finds a way to use the adversity to grow as a person and learns how to manage on their own.

Diversity

We are proud to offer a diverse workplace where people from various nationalities are represented. Furthermore, we take care to treat all colleagues and applicants the same, regardless of gender, age, religion, sexuality, etc.

We believe that a good mix of nationalities, cultures, and personalities is the foundation of a positive work environment and interesting workplace. We have much to learn from one another and colleagues often turn into lifelong friends.

Hygiene and Safety

We spend a fortune on soap and towel cleaning at Sticks’n’Sushi. We wash our hands just as eagerly as politicians trying to explain why they backed out on their campaign promises—the difference is that we’re actually cleaning our hands. In the restaurant industry, it is important to keep strict rules about hygiene and safety. Everyone is trained in food safety and good hygiene and we expect you to remember your training.

Senpai

If you are passionate about training others and love to teach, the position of Senpai might be the right fit for you. ‘Senpai’ means ‘senior’ and as Senpai, your job is to help train new fish, with the help and feedback of the restaurant’s management. In order to become Senpai, you need to know your way around the floor or the kitchen and be familiar with other positions.

Shift Leader

If you have a passion for leadership and organisational structure, you can take on the occasional role of Shift Leader in our restaurants. This opportunity is a stepping stone to management, or a temporary experience if you work part-time. Our Shift Leaders assist our Managers in the restaurant to oversee the operations and make good things happen.

Manager in Training

At Sticks’n’Sushi, we are always on the lookout for the best managers out there. We want all our employees to reach their full potential while we offer new and exciting opportunities. If you are dreaming about becoming a manager, we offer leadership and training programmes designed to help you realise your potential as a restaurant or kitchen manager.
